If reporting a technical error you may be asked by support staff to run a debug version of the software. The debug version contains an error reporting component. The purpose of this component is to generate an error report which will isolate the problem and point technical staff directly to the problem code.
To assist in identifying an error, install and run the debug version and then repeat the steps to replicate the error. If the error is captured, the screen below will appear.
Click the “send debug report” to upload, or “save debug report” to save it as a file.
You will be asked to enter contact information:
Detail your activity immediately prior to the error. Include any information that you think is pertinent.
The option exists to send a screenshot of the error.
The debug report contains technical information. It does not send case data, however it is technically possible that the report may list file or folder names associated with the current case. If it is a sensitive matter, save the debug report as a file and then redact any information before emailing the report.
